These four rules for success, originally stated by cultural anthropologist Angeles Arrien, form the foundation of every course I teach. With these rules by their side, my students can take the lessons of my class into any major, any job, or any project they may wish to pursue. If they do choose theatre, the rigor and freedom these rules bring to my classes will help prepare them to be the intelligent, creative, risk-taking, well-rounded artists they have the potential to be.
